Aloha and Welcome. Most people see Oahu as a paradise with nice beaches and weather. Most do not know the 50th state in America has its own unique culture. This culture was different from the rest of the country and has often created different experiences in our day to day lives. This website hopes to share some of the experinces that the people of Oahu from the past enjoyed. Understanding that these places and experiences are as vast and are numbered as the places where you are from. Our hope is to only start by giving just a peek. Life is about experiences and culture defines life.
Currently and in the past the state of Hawai'i and Oahu population has been made up of various people from differnt areas of the world. Most came to Oahu from the plantation eras of 1880s from japan, philipines and other pacific islands in hopes to find a better life. With them they brought their cultures, languges and custems. The pupulation of the islands in the past and today is made up of more then 50% asian and 20% mixed asian and other races.
